Windows 7 BSODs

Postby [22g]The_Caketaker » Thu Feb 25, 2010 12:40 pm

I'm wondering if anyone can help. I got this BSOD a few months ago and it was something to do with memory dump. Well last night it happened again and windows 7 creates a file called memory.dmp, there must be info in this file saying whats wrong but can't open the file. Both times it's happened when my computer hasn't been doing anything, first time i was just browsing net. Last night, i wasn't even at my computer and came back to find my comp had restarted.

I really want to know whats causing this BSOD every few months. I'm not sure whether it's a problem with my new pc whats causing it or what cos i did have a problem when i first got my new pc installing Windows 7 on it.

Please help :(

The memory dump file is useless to you.

Only a windows kernel developer is going to be able to make any use of it,
so unless you know one, you're outta look.

Any chance your PC has power save options switched on by default when you install Windows 7 ?

Some hardware can be a bit flakey when it comes to Hibination or Standby modes :)

First thing I switched off :)

Long shot but update your motherboards bios and double check all your bios settings are correct.
